Today we held our last pickerel tournament for 2006 and raised another $111.50 for our crib project at Prompton Dam.
We had a good turnout, however, the number of boats were down from last year's Henry tournament. The weather was fair (on and off showers) but the there was absolutely no wind for most of the day. Here are some the day's highlights:
- We had 15 boats / 30 anglers participate
- We had 84 fish caught BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY released all back alive
- We had a total tournament weight of 127.48lbs
- We had an average bag limit of 5.60 fish per team
- We had an average team weight of 1.52lbs
- We collected $750 in entry fees and paid out $638.50 in prize money, and
- We raised $111.50 for our Prompton Dam project.
Here are the results:
1st Place went to Piorkowski & Wojcik with an oustanding weight of 14.79lbs
2nd Place went to Mallick & Mallick with a weight of 11.22lbs
3rd Place went to Bahnweg & Swanson with a weight of 11.21bs
Lunker went to Piorkowski & Wojcik with a weight of 3.61lbs
I would like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE from Leggett's Creek who contributed to our Open Pickerel Tournaments and making it a huge success in 2006..
I would also like to thank all of the anglers who participated in our tournaments, which has helped us raise over $700 for our conservation project at Prompton Dam. Hopefully in the years to come you will see our project efforts pay off.
